Nigel Nesbitt Memorial Open 640kgs Competition

8 teams weighed-in: Carndonagh, Slieve Croob, Deel Rangers, Country Club, Rockies, Clonmany, Richhill, G&B.

With all the teams in one Group, pulling was very close and competitive, there were some long ends of tug of war.

After the group pulls, Country Club finished top, they pulled Carndonagh in the semi-finals and the second semi-final paired Slieve Croob against Deel Rangers. Country Club proved too strong for Carndonagh, Deel Rangers and Slieve Croob went to three ends with Slieve Croob eventually winning to get to the final.

Country Club won the final in two straight pulls, a great evening of tug of war enjoyed by everyone who attended.

The Clubs are now preparing for the British and Irish Championships which take place in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Blanchardstown, from the 20th to 22nd January

Winners of the Nigel Nesbitt Memorial Competition, Country Club and runners-up, Slieve Croob.
